The Utah Non-Resident Concealed Carry Pistol Permit Course

Purpose of the course: required for persons 21+ before applying to the State of Utah for a Utah Non-Resident Concealed Carry Permit, valid for concealed pistol carry in multiple states but NOT in NY or NJ. The ability to purchase firearms is granted on a state by state basis. When carrying concealed with a Utah permit you are subject to all federal, state and local laws.

Pre-requisites: acceptance of your completed application and materials, and criminal and background checks done by the State of Utah. Qualifying questions appear on the permit application. All permit information is available at

Course Fee: $85 to $120 depending on location & group size

The class focuses on seven key areas, taught in two sections:

Section I - handgun safety, operation, shooting fundamentals, safe handling.
Section II - select sections of Utah Criminal & Traffic Code & US Federal Firearms Regulations (Title 18, Chapter 44).
