The Florida Non-Resident Concealed Firearms Permit Course
Purpose of the course: required for persons 21+ years, as per Florida Statute 790.06(2)(h) before applying to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing for a concealed weapons permit valid for carry in multiple states but NOT in NY or NJ. The ability to purchase firearms is granted on a state by state basis. When carrying concealed with a Florida permit you are subject to all federal, state and local laws.
Pre-requisites: demonstrate safe handling & discharge of a firearm, review and understand Florida Statute 790, provide legally acceptable answers to 16 questions on the permit application form. Acceptance of your completed application and materials by Florida authorities, including criminal and background checks. Qualifying questions appear on the permit application. Course Fee: $80 to $120 depending on location & group size

1. Valid driver's license and NYS Pistol Permit

6. The FL fee of $117.00 (not needed at the course) to be sent with your FL application
7. The completed Florida fingerprint card (prints must be done at a law enforcement office)
9. A firearm, 20 rounds of ammunition and your NYS Pistol Permit for the course.

The class focuses on:
1. Florida concealed carry statutes (Chapter 790) and justifiable use of force statutes (Chapter 776).
2. On the range firearm handling and shooting to earn a certificate of competency with a firearm.
Note: According to the State of Florida a quick one-on-one shoot without a course, or a certificate issued without the instructor seeing you shoot is not in accordance with Florida Statute.
